Hearing Safety In The Workplace

June 25, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

According to Statistics Canada, 42 per cent of Canadians have worked, or currently work, in an environment where people need to raise their voices to talk to someone standing just a metre away. This represents an unsafe environment and permanent hearing loss can arise from the noise exposure.

Noise can come from a variety of sources. Whether it’s equipment or tools, music, or the result of interior design choices, it can negatively impact the health and safety of workers without adequate protection.

Join a representative of WorkSafeBC and learn how to protect the hearing of your staff, while improving their ability to interact with your customers. This session will focus on how sound can permanently damage ears, giving specific instruction on how to prevent noise-induced hearing loss in a variety of work environments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover the hearing challenges in modern workplaces
  • Steps to protect the hearing of your staff
  • How to educate your staff on hearing safety

Presented by a representative of WorkSafeBC.
