Dene Fur Clouds is a BDIC subsidiary based in Fort Providence that specializes in luxurious knit fur garments and accessories including headbands, hats, mitts, scarves, sweaters and more.

The company’s products are made using sheared beaver, arctic hare, fox and lynx harvested through the Genuine Mackenzie Valley Fur Program. The fur is sustainably caught, as it has been for centuries, to ensure garments are produced from a renewable source.

Dene Fur Clouds has been featured in Highrise Magazine, Style Magazine, the National Post, the Toronto Star, and various northern news outlets, as well as at fur and fashion expos across Canada.

The company was established in 1997 as a training venture between the Gah Got’ie Betterment Corporation and the NWT Business Development Corporation. The BDIC assumed full ownership of Dene Fur Clouds in 2005.
